Rotterdam ultra low sulfur diesel barges, showing relative strength, are trading in line with Mediterranean cargoes, traders said Monday, with the southern region still feeling the effect of October arbitrage volumes from the east and the US.

Rotterdam barges and Mediterranean cargoes cash premiums are both trading at $11.75/mt above the November 0.1% ICE gasoil futures contract, the lowest since February 11 for the cargoes, Platts data showed.

Traders said it was usual for Rotterdam barges, which are traded on a FOB basis, to trade at a discount to cargoes traded CIF, which includes the added cost of insurance and freight.
