8月洛杉矶港货物量增长6.7%至757 702TEU，创2010年以来新高

Los Angeles port August cargo up 6.7pc to 757,702 TEU - highest since 2010

CONTAINER traffic at the Port of Los Angeles last month reached its highest level in four years, according to monthly cargo volumes.

Imports and exports at the port totalled 757,702 TEU, a 6.7 per cent year-on-year increase and the biggest throughput since August 2010. The port authority credited "peak season volumes" and larger vessels for the increase in container traffic.

The port, the busiest in the country by container volume, has seen a recent surge in cargoes, many ascribe to retailers wanting to get stocked up in the event an impasse at the current west coast docker talks produce a strike or lockout.

Inbound containers in August were up 7.8 per cent year on year to 383,551 TEU. Outbound boxes increased to 168,248 TEU, up 6.2 per cent. The port handled 205,903 empties a 5.3 per cent jump from August 2013.

For the year to date, the Port of Los Angeles has handled 5.5 million TEU, a 7.6 per cent increase over last year's pace.

港口的进出口总量为757 702TEU，同比增长6.7%，创下2010年8月以来吞吐量新高。港务局认为集装箱运输量增长的主要原因是旺季到来和船舶大型化。 

洛杉矶港是全美集装箱量最大的港口，近来货量猛增，很多人把这归结于零售商想要多备存货，以防止当前西海岸码头工人的谈判出现僵局从而导致罢工或是码头关闭的情况。

8月，入境集装箱量同比增长7.8%至383 551TEU。出境集装箱增至168 248TEU，上涨6.2%。港口共处理205 903个空箱，较2013年8月增长5.3%。 

   今年到目前为止，洛杉矶港已处理550万TEU的集装箱量，较去年增加7.6%。
