US railways expect to spend US$29 billion on infrastructure in 2015
US railways plan to increase infrastructure spending to US$29 billion in 2015, laying track, buying engines and adding to rail network nationwide driven by an energy and farm freight surge, says the Association of American Railroads (AAR).
This, said the AAR, was the sector's second annual increase in the network that has become a vital for North Dakota oil producers and Midwest farmers dealing with record volumes, Reuters reports.
