US Coast Guard adopts LNG bunker rule

The US Coast Guard (USCG) has published two policy letters on LNG bunkering, personnel training and waterfront facilities based on classification society DNV GL's paper, "Development and Operation of LNG Bunkering Facilities", according to Shipping Gazette.

Since US ports do not have LNG liquefaction and storage facilities yet, ships will have to rely on small-scale bunkering for the time being, reports the American Journal of Transportation.
