Port of New York/New Jersey lifts record number of boxes in August  

The Port of New York and New Jersey handled a record 574,547 TEU in August, an 8.7 per cent year-on-year increase as well an increased numbers of vehicles.

August cargo was bolstered by a 5.2 per cent increase in import loaded containers, according to a statement from the port. During August, the number of vehicles handled in the port rose by 17.5 per cent year on year to 42,908.
