From waste product to high-quality biofuel

Sustainability is more than the use of renewable raw materials; the optimal use of raw materials is also important. The new plant Neste is currently building alongside the existing refinery in Rotterdam does both.

In Rotterdam, Neste produces mainly high-quality NEXBTL renewable diesel from various types of waste, residues and vegetable oils. In addition to biodiesel, this also creates residual gases. Currently, these gases are sold to power plants. The new unit of Neste will separate biopropane from these residual gas streams. This creates a super clean and commercially attractive fuel: Bio LPG while taking maximum advantage of the raw materials.
