鹿特丹港预计在未来举行为期6天的反自动化罢工

Rotterdam expects six 24-hour anti-automation strikes in Dec, Jan

ROTTERDAM dockers have voted to hold a series of 24-hour strikes in December and January to protest job loss from continuing container terminal automation, Reuters reports.

FNV Havens union chief Niek Stam said his men want guarantees of no layoffs for nine years. Terminal automation is expected to cut 700 out of 4,000 jobs in 2017.

Major container employers ECT, APMT and RWG have rejected that demand in contract talks which have been running since April.
